  Alternatives for battered women  provides crisis counseling, support and prevention/education.

  Services
  

        A 24-hour hotline
        A 38-bed emergency shelter for women and children (both boys and girls, up to age 18)
        Walk-in counseling. Short-term counseling is available in an emergency.
        Family programs are available for children and their mothers residing in the shelter, including counseling
        (both group and individual)
        Transitional Support Services includes our non-residential programs
        Court Advocacy is a collaborative program between ABW and Legal Aid Society of Rochester
        Our Education and Prevention program reaches out to students in middle and high schools and colleges

Donations To Alternatives For Battered Women, Inc.

We receive many requests from users who would like to donate to the women's shelters listed. Please call the shelter directly at and ask how to donate your items. If you would like to volunteer, please call the same number and ask for their current volunteer oppoturnities.

I am writing to find out if you would able to use new and gently used stuffed animals. My 16 year old daughter is working on a community service project that has been overwhelmingly successful and she would love to find homes for these animals.
