H.E.R. is a fully accredited by Virginia's D.V. Coalition, Virginians Against Domestic Violence. We are also accredited by United Way of South Hampton Roads. We have been in existence for over fifteen years, and provide a multi-faceted program for victims of domestic violence. These include emergency housing, 24-hour emergency hotline, a comprehensive Children's Program, an Aftercare Program for person leaving the shelter, two community support groups, a Court Advocacy Program, and several community education programs, including Teen Dating Violence, What Every Medical Professional Should Know About Domestic Violence, Domestic Violence in the Workplace and Domestic Abuse of Women in Later Life.
