Our vision is to end sexual and domestic violence, child abuse and neglect through service, education, advocacy, social change and promotion of justice.
Our mission is to improve the lives of those affected by sexual and domestic violence, child abuse and neglect.
SOS Crisis Services addresses the emotional and physical needs of child and adult survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services are provided to sheltered and non-sheltered survivors and include:
a 24-hour helpline;
emergency shelter and safety planning;
advocacy for medical, legal, financial and social services that are available;
individual and group counseling services;
supportive services to empower survivors; and
long-term support to change lives.
Services are provided at no cost to survivors because SOS is supported through a combination of state and federal grants, the United Way of the Flint Hills and the generosity of donors.
SOS serves six counties in central Kansas: Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris and Osage. The shelter is located in Emporia. County officers are located in Burlington, Council Grove, Eureka, and Lyndon.
