St. Elizabeth Catholic Worker (SECW) is a not-for-profit corporation located in an African-American community on the south side of Chicago. Our mission is to serve homeless mothers and their children by not only providing physical stability through shelter and meals but also empowering our residents through support, education, job training, skill development and affirmation. Our facilities provide a temporary home to 7 women and 28 children. We provide each family with a private room, meals, and extensive support services. In addition, we support our neighborhood through our weekly food pantry.
