A key component of Contra Costa County's safety net, STAND! addresses violence on several fronts to build safe and strong families and to provide shelter and resources for victims escaping violent homes.

Emergency Shelter































































Their 24-bed facility, part of the Rollie Mullen Center for women and children (up to age 16) is a safe place where clients can stay for up to 12 weeks. Clients participate in daily meetings and on-going case management with access to housing referrals, legal advocacy, vocational services and job readiness training, and ongoing workshops on a variety of topics, including budgeting and positive parenting skills.































































































































Emergency Response Team































































Responds to police and hospital calls to work with victims in the first hours after an incident.































































Team members provide support and inform victims of services available to them and their options.































































































































Pets































































Pets are important members of the family they can provide comfort and strong emotional support. 71% of pet-owning women entering womens shelters report that their batterer injured, maimed, killed or threatened family pets for revenge or to psychologically control victims.































































Although they recognize that safety is important for pets as well, they are unable to house pets at their emergency shelter.































































Please ask a friend or family member to care for your pet, make arrangements at a local pet boarding facility, or check with the Animal Welfare Institute.

    Hello - I'm preparing for a move and getting rid of household items, bedding (Q sheets & covers, pillows, towels, ets), womens clothing sizes 10 - 14 as well as a mess of shoes that are in great condition, sizes 10 - 11.
