The state of Alabama has a work incentive grant designed for youth ages 19 – 24 with disabilities who are unemployed, underemployed, and might also be receiving social security benefits. An individual can begin the process as early as 18 years of age. The (DEI) Disability Employment Initiative is a Federal program. The coordinators across the state are here to increase the number of job seekers with disabilities who access the One-stop career system and help them navigate and use the One-stop Career center system. There is joint collaboration on education and training. We customize life factors into employment for success. I am the Disability Resource Coordinator for your area and look forward to helping any referral that you may have. Sincerely, Allan D.
