The Franklin County Women's Shelter (FCWS) is a non-profit organization with the mission of improving the health, well-being and stability of homeless and low-income community members.
To receive services from FCWS, a client must be homeless, at imminent-risk of becoming homeless, or low-income.
FCWS operates 4 service-enriched housing programs for women and families with children who are homeless.
The Family Shelter program is for homeless families (men and/or women) with children and provides temporary shelter, services, and support for up to 1 year.
The Women’s Shelter program is for homeless women without children in their custody and provides temporary shelter, services, and support for up to 1 year.
The Emergency Shelter program is for women and families with children who are experiencing an immediate housing crisis and provides very short-term shelter via hotel room.
The Rapid Re-housing program is for successful participants in the Women's Shelter program and provides rental assistance, services, and support for at least 8 months after a woman leaves the program.
Clients can access services by calling the office (502) 352-2843 Monday-Friday from 9-5 and complete a telephone intake.
