Mt Vernon Homeless Shelter

For a limited period of time families with children are allowed to live at one of the shelters.

All household expenses for the family are paid while they are in the shelter.

Families are expected to save their money for the first few months rent and deposits when they leave the shelter.

A representative of the Mt. Vernon Homeless Shelter makes periodic visits with the families to ensure that the house is being well taken care of and that the family is budgeting their money in preparations for moving out on their own.

The concern of the Mt. Vernon Homeless Shelter is, and always has been, that children have a roof over their heads.

This is why board members become involved and why they stay involved.

Hello I have some simple and gently used household items including baby items and some clothes blankets pillows etc. I would love to help a family starting in a new apartment that can use a little help. Please let me know I don't want to give it to a charity or organization that sells donation I much rather bless someone in need. God bless you.
