Safe Haven of Mt. Carmel illinois, inc. is a private (non-state funded) temporary Emergency Shelter for homeless women and their children in the greater Wabash County Area of Southeastern Illinois.
Their Missionis to both offer spiritual, physical, and emotional support while providing a safe place to reside while women and their children transition from homelessness to self sufficiency and to help women help themselves by teaching them the tools and skills necessary to improve the quality of their lives.
By continually reaching out to those in need with the love of Christ, Safe Haven strives to educate the greater Wabash County Area about the true nature of homelessness in their community as they advocate for their clients and increase awareness about the issues that impact the lives of homeless women and children in their communities.

Safe Haven is newly remodeled and reopened on September 27, 2021. It is now open and ready for clients! It's a beautiful, Christan shelter for women and children to make their temporary home while working towards a better, more stable life.
