L.I. Against Domestic Violence

L.I. Against Domestic Violence is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing quality services to victims of domestic violence; we exist to provide safety and supportive services to victims of domestic violence.  Since incorporating in 1976 as a not-for-profit 501c (3) organization, L.I. Against Domestic Violence has worked to reduce and eliminate the number of incidents of domestic violence; with a commitment to the empowerment of victims and survivors of domestic violence through supportive services include hotline, counseling, vocational training, emergency shelter, prevention and education resources, and legal advocacy, the agency  continues to develop services that meet the ever changing needs of those suffering the effects of violence at the hands of an intimate partner.  The staff is comprised of caring professionals who dedicate their skills toward prevention, support, and healing.

I am currently homeless, not abused in any way. I do have severe health issues. Uncontrolled diabetes , liver disease, enlarged pancreas and spleen. I also have extremely painful hernias. I am 44 years old, widowed since 2010. Please help me or put me in contact with someone who can.

i want to leave but, dont want to take my daughter away from her father. he threatens to take her from me and has threatened to kill me and my family several times. I have no where else to go and a shelter with 5 children does not seem like an option right now. what do I do because i believe he will act on his promises real soon.

I was turned away from my local DSS when I asked and applied for shelter from domestic violence. I currently need housing - do you know of any shelters that will take me in temporarily while I search for a place to stay?
