Montgomery Co. Women's Center

In addition to a safe place to rest their heads, the shelter clients benefit from individual counseling for themselves and their children, legal advocacy, support groups, education and child care while they begin their healing process and seek employment.

Those who come to shelter receive food, clothing, emergency legal services, limited medical treatment, prescription and non-prescription medications, personal care items, school supplies, employment assistance and referrals to services outside this organization.

Shelter services are available for a maximum of 45 days, with an additional two-week extension if there is an expectation of permanent or transitional housing.

When leaving the shelter, families receive assistance with start-up household goods from the resale store Something Special at no cost.

Alternate housing arrangements are available for adult men who need shelter.

We have a 72 year old aunt who is without a home. She is presently staying at The Salvation Army and will need to leave after her allotted time is up. She has lived in The Woodlands since its development and wishes to stay in area. Is there a place for her at this facility? If so when can she come by to see someone about her help? Thanks for caring for the helpless. We live 2 hours away and she desires to stay close due to her daughter in Montgomery Co jail. Thanks so much. ronnieandtina8@gmai.com
