Transitions Family Violence Services assists adult and child victims through 19 programs which provide shelter, counseling and advocacy. Our goals are to provide a safe environment and basic needs; to increase the likelihood that victims of domestic violence will lead violence-free lives; to improve the client's ability to become self-sufficient and to reduce the likelihood that future generations will repeat the cycle of violence. We work to increase awareness of domestic violence and provide opportunities for community members to participate in our mission. Transitions Family Violence Services believes that domestic violence is a crime; the victim is not responsible for the actions of the abuser; the client has the right to self-determination and can choose to lead a violence-free life.
